California Chair
Made by Belgian Pieter Maes, California Chair is looking for a solution on how to make a cheap chair.
The idea started with wanting to make a low-cost easy chair. Using skateboards for the majority of the structure, the price could be reduced significantly. The objective was making them unrecognisable so the chair didn’t have a street connotation. Therefore they’re padded and upholstered in Kvadrat to result in a luxurious and tactile seat.
Successful design I'd say :)

The wood makes me think of Charles and Ray Eames' Lounge Chair and that's not a bad reference! Nice chair indeed!
