Belgian?

Wappers Belgian Revolution

So what does it mean to you to be Belgian?

Do we know anything about the Belgian Revolution? Or from our past for that matter?

I guess to me, that question only started to matter while being away.
Am I a citizen of the world? And if so, can I still be Belgian?
I truly think there are some characteristics that define it. Some habits, some food, some cultural differences that make us Belgians.
It is the things that makes us long to be 'home', to eat the food we are used to, and to deal with the people in the way we know it.
Then again, it also opposes us to the things we are acquainted to but cannot agree with.

Am I a citizen of the world? I truly hope so.
Am I Belgian, I surely am, in a historically way.
