Apple: strange solution to the whining
Today I discovered, thanks to Erlend, a strange solution to the whining in a Mac Book Pro: connect the wireless bluetooth mouse and the whining is gone.
Really!!!!
Can someone explain this please?

CPU cycles. If the machine's idle, it'll whine. If it has some number crunching to do, how little it may be, it'll be quiet.
