Web-based or computer-based
I already said long time ago I don't believe in web-based apps nor in web-based data.
Don't trust it a sec...
I need to have a computer and a backup, and then another backup...
Nothing esoteric floating in the air...
I do believe in access on a distance.
Like Mc Nucle.
Access your Mc Nucle from anywhere around the world. As long as you have internet access, your data will be reachable.
The Mc Nucle is a multi-player server. Many different sorts of players can access the Mc Nucle directly: media centers, dvd recorders, PDAs, iTunes, explorers on Windows and Mac, the Nucle Browser.
Any Universal Plug & Play enabled media player is supported by the Mc Nucle. Most new networked media centers, dvd players, dvd recorders and stereo systems will support UPnP. You can then use your remote control to browse your Mc Nucle Server and fetch that latest home movie you dropped in.
29 euro and Belgian...
No more need to convince me.

Telenet or Skynet should come up with an online backup service. They're the online one that can allow you huge upload streams (and charge you for it).
Actually Skynet has such a backup service since a half year, but didn't research about it yet.
I personally think that an online backup service is more reliable than your own computer backups. Do you keep your backups in a seperate place (= not at home), how long will your backups last (CD lose their data really quick) ?,...
Big datacenters have daily backups, are cooled with airco and even have gasoline engines when the power is cut.
Of course if you're using a beta or free service it's very unlikely they'll do efforts to put your data back. So, I would always go for a payed service.

Yep I hide my back ups...
Actually once thieves got in the apartment, stole everything, also the back up, but lucky me, left the main HD which was lying in the side.
It seemed they were drugaddicts and didn't know what they stole...
