Why Ghent...

...someone asked.

Why this tiny little town in Belgium when there is a world full of exciting places to explore.

Because when I walk in the streets, and I watch the people, when I go shopping and the woman at the counter answers me with a Spanish accent, the Turkish people in the tram smile at me, when I see the old men speaking with an explicit Ghentish dialect, when I feel the towers surrounding me, and the history whispering in my ears, I feel happy, and most all, I feel home.

Kind of an answer that applies to most of the major cities in Belgium don't you think?
