My granddad's answer

Img 5535

Quite a while ago (like a year or so) my grand-parents decided they wanted to have a digital cam.
I got rid of my old one (and bought myself a smaller and faster one) and they ended up with a pretty nifty camera. It was/is perfect for their needs.
I took my granddad a while before he got the concept of 'emptying a card and re-use it + storing pictures on a HD' but by now he's pretty good in taking pictures and managing them on his desktop.
In fact, I think he might be better in working with Picasa than my mom (sorry mom, but it's true...)

I think he loves it. When at friends, he takes the pictures and afterwards he sends them through email.
He pictures the cat and sends the whole family a series of funny shots.
Or he even goes artistic and takes a macro-shot of the flowers in his garden.

Yesterday I was talking about this with my neighbor, and this morning around 8, I get this series of pictures of sunrise, as an answer on my picture yesterday.

Maybe the internet gets us less out of our chair, but it doesn't prevent our social life.
Actually sometimes I think it gets us more in touch and invents new ways of communicating.
