Sex, lies and Andy
I always have been a huge fan of Andy Warhol, especially after seeing some video documentaries on his life and work.
Andy Warhol was pronounced dead at 6:21 am on February 22, 1987. He was 58 years old. An open-casket ceremony was held at Thomas P. Kunsak Funeral Home in Pittsburgh. He was wearing a black cashmere suit, colorful paisley tie, a platinum wig, and sunglasses. He was holding a small prayer book and a red rose... The coffin was covered with white roses and asparagus ferns… Before the casket was lowered, Paige Powell dropped a copy of Interview magazine, an Interview t-shirt, and a bottle of Estée Lauder perfume into the grave.
20 years later, the Beurschouwburg celebrates the anniversary of his death by scheduling unordinary events during 3 days in a row to illustrate his life.
To kick off these 3 days, don't miss the DJ set of STIJN with a musical walk within Warhol imaginary world on Feb 22 at 22.00.
At Beursschouwburg Brussels.
I'll try to drop by...
