LCA and other stuff.

Yesterday evening we went to 'Een slimme meid doet aan duurzaamheid'
I got intrigued because Arne Quinze was coming.
I got afraid because Dirk Draulans was moderating.

For a while I decided not to blog about this, but then someone reminded me that nagging about something in some cases is justified because the fact it is true.

It is the second time I am going to a discussion in the Vooruit with Dirk Draulans as a moderator.
2 times the subject was extremely interesting, and 2 times the speakers were 'word class' people that know a lot about it.
But 2 times the discussions end in a boring slow thing, where you almost fall asleep.
In my humble opinion that's due to Draulans...
He never manages to ask the right questions, nor go beyond any imagination. (The discussions were on ecology and the future, allowing to go beyond many conventions)
Nope, to me, he sticks to his own ideas, and when he wants to do something daring, it feels like picking on the person in front of him instead of trying to launch some new thoughts.

Anyhow. As you understood: it was boring.
But luckily enough we discovered Jan Kriekels, who dared to oppose Draulans, and who launched some really interesting concepts.
Kriekels is director marketing and R&D for Jaga you know as the radiatorfactory with the beautiful designs.
The story he told yesterday was beyond some imagination, and yet very pragmatic and realistic in some ways.

He spoke too short, I would love to sit with him in a small group and talk and listen. I am sure he would enlighten me with many more ideas.
A pity I cannot find these ideas on their website yet (apparently Jaga is busy developing some new 'heating systems' based upon LCA (Life Cycle Analysis).)
Pretty darn interesting...
