Limit of my knowledge...

1 year sentence and 5.500 euro per person???
They had 15 workers working for several months at 1 euro/hour up to 5 euros/hour.
Knowing that the normal wage is 20 euro/hour...
Let's say 6 months, 15 workers, 20 days a month, 8 hours a day, that equals 216.000 euro of not paid wages to these workers...
Not to talk about the profit these guys will get on their hotel...
So they are asking only 5.500 euro fines, and one year in prison (which they'll probably get rid of anyway?).
Dunno, but to me, that's a fine not in context. Not at all.
I hope they get sued for a lot of other things afterwards...

die 5.500 is wel strafrechterlijk he; administratie zal wel ook achter de vennootschap aangaan, binnenkort eens de bilan checken.
Posted by John baeyens | April 30, 2007 2:29 PMNormaal loon 20 EU per uur? Als je in een 100% legaal kader Polen wil tewerkstellen zal je om en bij de 12 EU per uur betalen. Wat die Polen er dan zelf uiteindelijk aan overhouden zal niet zo veel meer zijn dan de 5 à 7 EU waarvan sprake.
Welcome to the world; ik zal ook de eerste zijn om een Braziliaanse Nanny te importeren die we 250 EU per maand betaalden in Brazilie; waarmee we een top betaler waren, namelijk het dubbele van het minimuloon waaraan het grootste deel van de bevolking werkt. Aan 8u per dag is dat zo'n 1,5 EU per uur. GDP per hoofd in Roemenië is ongeveer dat van Brazilië. De rekeningen kloppen dus.
